Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) – Every Minute Counts
Sudden and unexpected cardiac arrest that occurs outside hospitals affects over 3,000 people in Norway every year.
The cardiac arrest that many watched live on TV during the European Football Championship this summer has led to an increased focus on and desire to be able to perform CPR. During the first crucial minutes, there are usually no health personnel present, and it may be up to you to take care of the seriously ill person. The chance of surviving a cardiac arrest is 2-3 times higher if CPR is started before the ambulance arrives.
Aker Care has made a short video where they demonstrate basic CPR and the use of defibrillators. The video is intended as a reminder of how to perform CPR. At the same time, we encourage everyone to attend first aid courses on a regular basis, as it can enable you to perform life-saving first aid at a critical time. Aker Care has certified first aid instructors and can give courses to departments and projects.
NB: the language in the video is Norwegian, but it has English subtitles
